About Catholic Schools is the official publication for Sydney Catholic Schools. Released in print each term and updated online throughout the year, it aims to cover topics of interest to the communities that surround Sydney Catholic Schools in an engaging way.
Stories in the magazine are drawn from the 152 parish primary schools and regional secondary colleges that make up our school system. About frequently covers topics as diverse as school funding; literacy and numeracy; the humanities; Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) initiatives; vocational education and the NSW Higher School Certificate; student wellbeing; and the landmark Arrowsmith and Newman Selective Gifted Education programs.
Over 40 years, the publication has evolved from a four-page monthly newsletter to a 32-page colour magazine and accompanying website. It has received 22 Australasian Catholic Press Association (ACPA) Awards for Excellence in the past nine years, and the Australian College of Educators (ACE) NSW 2017 Media and Communications Award for consistent and in-depth coverage of educational issues.
