By Maayan Matti, Sophie Tran and Chloe Younan, Year 6 students at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Primary School Fairfield
On Friday 28 June, the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the community at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Primary School Fairfield filled their hearts and stomachs with a warm and toasty breakfast for the cost of a gold coin donation.
Some students enjoyed a nice cup of hot chocolate, while others ate a crispy waffle.
The appeal was aimed at bringing the community together to raise awareness for families that might not have breakfast. All funds raised will go towards St Vincent De Paul’s Winter Appeal to support local areas, such as Fairfield and Liverpool.
I really enjoyed the breakfast
Thavier Sako attended the breakfast with his son Veron.
“I really enjoyed the breakfast served to me by the principal, Mrs Vella,” Mr Sako said, as students queued up to grab a bite before their busy day started.
The success of this appeal showed what warm hearts the students of Our Lady of the Rosary have. Fundraising will continue next Friday when students and teachers will wear their pajamas at school.
We welcome submissions from student cadets at all Sydney Catholic systemic schools. Students can email a photo and media release to email@example.com.
