Shakespeare was served on a silver platter to senior students at OLR Fairfield last week.
As part of the Shakespeare unit for Years 5 and 6 in Semester 2, Mrs Awad, the drama teacher at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Primary School Fairfield, organised a live experience of Just Romeo and Juliet by the Bell Shakespeare company. This riveting performance showcased to students a unique modern version of a classic play.
The exhilarating performance left the students in awe, longing for more. “I learned a lot about how to project your voice to engage the audience. I was amazed they could use so few props and yet make a performance so interesting,” said Mariana Nguyen, a Year 6 student.
I didn’t know Shaksepeare could be so funny
“I didn’t know Shaksepeare could be so funny” said James Do, a Year 6 student.
The students were given the opportunity to ask questions at the end which left several students considering a future career in acting.
