Day 1: Prague, pm

Our Lady of the Sacred Heart College Kensington and Loretto Kirribilli pilgrims on Bus 3 share what happened on their first afternoon in Prague.

“Having arrived in Prague yesterday afternoon, today we explored the city. We visited St Victus Cathedral, Prague Castle, Golden Lane and attended a Mass in Our Lady of Victory Church.

The thing that resonated with us the most was when a group of Lebanese tourists all sung a beautiful hymn at the end of our Mass. It felt really special to experience this and it emphasised the universality of Catholicism. It made us especially excited for World Youth Day Week to meet new people and see the way every individual practices their faith.

Another special thing that happened today was when we met an American couple from California who are also attending World Youth Day in Krakow. They offered us a small sticker which had a picture of Mother Mary; the bottom stating #BeTheMercy2016. We found this saying really important and began to realise how we can “Be the Mercy” in our everyday lives. Today we made plenty of new friends and enjoyed exploring and learning the history of Prague
