Pilgrims attended Mass at the Basilica of Santa Maria Degli Angeli (St Mary of the Angels) on their final morning in Assisi before making their way to Rome.
This will be the the final three-night stop in Italy for Buses 15, 16 and 17 before a flight to Poland. The journey was marked by a spot of heavy traffic and a brief stop of the traditional pilgrim and tourist trails to the medieval town of Spello, built on a hill in the Umbrian region out of the same distinctive pink stone as most of Assisi around 2BC.
After praying the rosary, Bus 16’s guide Pia treated pilgrims to some Eutruscan history. Some also passed the time singing a medley of songs. Hopefully before the journey is over we can bring you video of this.
