Year 6 student Kyle Leaver and Year 4 students James de Szoeke and Justin Miletic joined the more than 4,000 young people who were part of the 357 teams involved in the competition – the largest representative touch football event in the world. Year 3 student Rory Leaver was a reserve player in the lead-up tournaments.
The boys went through a rigorous selection process for the chance to represent their district, and trained extremely hard for the three-day event.
The Under 12 boy’s team which included Kyle reached the quarter finals, where they were knocked out by the eventual champions, Penrith. The under 10 boys including James and Justin finished in the top half of the pool of 36 teams.
“Our students played with great professionalism and sportsmanship,” Principal Jan Heyworth said. “We congratulate them on a wonderful achievement.”
