Skies were bright and blue when Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Primary Caringbah students left their mark on the African Children’s Choir tour bus.
Six students placed their hand prints on the bus in bright green, blue and orange paint after they won a school-run art competition with the tour theme ‘Under One Sky’. The Ugandan choir includes performers aged 9 to 12 and tours each year to raise funds to educate children living in poverty in their home country.
The hand print ceremony was followed by a Friday afternoon performance for the whole school.
Year 3 student Daniel Lehane’s art work was among the winning entries. His family also hosted choir members during their weekend stay. “I think it’s pretty good for them to come to our school,” he said. “We’ve got three days with them so I’m very excited.” Read more here.
