Commemorative garden blessed

Ashbury_Anzac_1The garden built at St Francis Xavier Catholic School Ashbury to commemorate 100 years since Australian soldiers landed at Anzac Cove was blessed and opened on April 24.

It’s planted with rosemary, which grows wild on the Gallipoli peninsula and is a symbol of remembrance.

The garden was planted to reflect values synonymous with the soldiers that fought on Turkish soil.

“In the true spirit of the Anzacs, this Memorial Garden has been constructed through teamwork, cooperation, friendship, self sacrifice and loyalty,” said one student.
